He said he’d be back.
“The constitution doesn’t allow me to run for president! Otherwise I would not be standing here in a leather jacket. I would never have a conversation about any of this!”
Arnie is no stranger to doing things differently. Now, following eight years as Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be taking on a new role in his already expansive career: a cartoon superhero known as The Governator.
Announcing his return to Hollywood after leaving office last January, he granted his first interview to US Magazine Entertainment Weekly.
“The word Governator combined two worlds – the world of politics and the movie world. And brings everything together: it combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies.” Schwarzenegger, 63, told the famous magazine.
An animated TV show and comicbook is being brought to life by Schwarzenegger and the superwriter/co-collaborator (Spiderman, Hulk, Avengers to name a few!) Stan Lee. The series has already begun production although there is no release confirmed until next year.
Lee said: “The Governator is going to be a great superhero, but he’ll also be Arnold Schwarzenegger. We’re using all the personal elements of Arnold’s life. We’re using his wife [Maria Shriver]. We’re using his kids. We’re using the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood.”
A list of superhero tools and toys for The Governator to use at will, includes a convoy of super vehicles and “Super Suits” which have flying devices and allow the hero to perform superhuman stunts. And of course, no superhero would be complete without his yonic-symbolic hidey hole of gadgets and weapons: the Arnold Cave.
The character will be aided by numberous sidekicks throughout the series, the first of which is said to be the character ‘Zeke Muckerberg’, a 13-year-old cybersecurity expert, and technical wizard. Their adventures will involve battles with recurring supervillains — such as the evil organized criminals called Gangsters Imposters Racketeers Liars & Irredeemable Ex-cons (or G.I.R.L.I.E. Men.)
Schwarzenegger said: “The Governator…that guy is designed to fight crime. To fight all the natural disasters: this guy will be jumping into the action, and will eliminate the problems.”
The Governator has been described as a semi-fictional character.
