Hello hello. This is an odd post, as I am taking the opportunity to promote…me?
Unbeknownst to many readers (Hola!) I like to dabble in POETRY.
Spoken POETRY. That’s right. I’m one of those people.
My work is ‘lyrical verse’ – as the poetry teacher liked to call it during a University course when teaching all about the different sonnet forms. And all I wanted to write about was boys. That’s not proper you see. (But then I did write proper stuff, and it was nice stuff, and yet couldn’t entertain drinkers on Sundays with the proper stuff last year.)
So here I would like to open the following invitation to all who like the unproper!
An evening with the Camp Cadet and chums
Thursday 3rd February
The Miller pub, London Bridge, SE1
With a mixed bag of music, humour and poetry for a good cause…
Starring: Ruby Basara, Katie Hearsey, Jane McConnell, sexy Sharif Nashashibi (especially for the girls) and Luisa Omielan
A panel of special guests for a topical debate – these people are super special and will not be named until the night in case of any last minute changes!
Headlining: Chris Dangerfield!
‘Goes where other comics fear to tread. A much needed breath of
vulgarity’ – Julian Clary
‘Wild, refreshing and unconventionally brilliant’ – Scott Cupurro
All ticket sales and donations go to charity (to be announced on the evening)
MOST IMPORTANTLY WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO DRINK AND DONATE AT THIS ONE OFF EVENT
So, feel free to join me as I help out the comedian Stephen Bailey and special guests in a charity entertainment evening. We’ll be in The Miller, London SE1 from 8pm tomorrow. Hope to see lots of you there, it’s only a fiver in! Indulge in some fringe theatre!
*Yes, really thankyou for reading. There’ll be a special article this month celebrating Speechmarks: keep the beadies peeled…
